Ayurveda is an ancient Vedic science, part of the Atharvaveda. It has been in existence since the creation of "Shrishti", i.e. this world.

This is the definition of Ayurveda as given in the ancient texts. In India Ayurveda has been used in day-to-day life from olden days. Over the last decade or so, Ayurveda has become popular all over the world.

Our family has been practising Ayurveda for the last forty-five years. This tradition started from our Guru (teacher) Vaidya Wamanacharya Nilangekar, one of the seniormost Ayurvedic experts in Nadi pariksha (Pulse Examination i.e. diagnosis of the patient's disease from pulse reading) and Darshan Pariksha (Face Reading i.e. diagnosis by reading a patient's face).

Vaidya Wamanacharya Nilangekar taught Dr D.A. Bhole, a graduate in Ayurveda from Mumbai University and Vaidya G.A.Bhole. Dr D.A.Bhole learned Nadi Pariksha from Vaidya Nilangekar while Vaidya G.A.Bhole learned Darshan Pariksha from him.

Dr D.A.Bhole has been practising Ayurveda for the last forty-five years. He has a successful practice in both Pune and Mumbai. After graduating in 1953, he started his practice in a Primary Health Care Centre Hospital in Pune district. He worked there for about twelve years. During that period he conducted many immunization camps for smallpox, polio, B.C.G,etc. He has worked in the fields of gynaecology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology and family planning & welfare. He is well known for his diagnosis by Nadi Pariksha (pulse reading). He has treated various types of difficult cases rejected by allopathic medicine. These include cases of : chronic fevers, chronic allergic bronchitis, bronchial asthama, chronic renal failures, various types of skin diseases, chronic colitis, chronic hyperacidity, duodenal, gastric ulcers, severe jaundice, diabetes mellitus, cardiac diseases, nonhodgekins lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemias.

For his remarkable contribution to treating various types of cases rejected by allopathy, the "Vardhishu Charitable Trust", founded by a senior scientist of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, has felicitated him in Mumbai. Vaidya G.A.Bhole was also a well-known ayurvedic practitioner in Pune as well as in Mumbai. He cured many acute and chronic cases rejected by allopathy. Also, he was an expert in treating various types of infertility. He has worked in K. E. M. Hospital Mumbai and in Pune.

Dr Atul Bhole, son of Dr D.A.Bhole is the third vaidya (ayurvedic doctor) of the same gurukul. He worked with Vaidya Wamanacharya Nilangekar, Dr D.A. Bhole and Vaidya G.A.Bhole Working with all these senior vaidyas gave him the opportunity to learn diagnosis by way of Darshan Pariksha and Nadi Pariksha. He also studied various types of cases undiagnosed by allopathy and cured those patients. He himself is a graduate in Ayurvedic medicine from Pune University. He has been practising Ayurvedic medicine successfully for the last twelve years. Among others, he has cured difficult cases of -

Dr Atul also studied Ayurveda from a senior vaidya in New Delhi - Vaidya Nanakchand Sharma. This added another dimension to his knowledge as he got the opportunity to learn the process of manufacturing Ayurvedic medicines. In addition Nanakchandji taught him as to how seemingly incurable diseases like throat cancer, liver cancer, brain tumours and acute migraines could be cured.
